Meet our barn cats!

Baby KeeKee

Baby KeeKee was our homestead’s first animal, literally coming with the property. The first night of our move in, we kept hearing a loud squeaking coming from inside the barn, only to discover that his mom had put him inside of a barn wall with no way to climb out on his own. On that hot August night, we fished him out of the wall, cleaned up his little eyes, and fed him. Day after day he got stronger, more playful and has grown into a pretty stellar feline. He does free roam and is quite the independent man, but he always comes back home. He’s full of grit, barn cat shenanigans, and gets along with every animal in the barnyard - including his new kitten friends!

Athena KeeKee

Athena is the hardest-working animal on our farm. Multiple times a week she reminds us of this by leaving mice, birds, and sometimes rabbits at the barn door. She’s fierce, a bit wild, and an absolute hoot! We’ve never met a cat with this much attitude, but we love it. She’s the perfect fit in our barnyard ecosystem and loves our humans. We’re so glad that we accepted the offer from a local horse farm to take her in at our house. She’s been a fantastic addition, but watch your ankles when you walk by her - she will swat you!

Cheese KeeKee

This little tiger has become quite the barn cat. His favorite things to do are play with donkey poop (gross, we know), chase Athena KeeKee around, climb trees, and kill things. We love having him on our homestead and watching his interesting connection with LuEllen, our highland cow. He chews her horns, rubs against her, and just likes to be around her - and we have the video evidence to prove it. Who would have ever thought that our biggest and our smallest animals would be besties!
