Meet our mini donkeys!

Having miniature donkeys has always been a dream. In the fall of 2021, these two beauties were born to a lovely family in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania that welcomed us to come visit. It was love at first sight and both jennies were to make a road trip us as their forever home in December - just in time for Christmas! What a wonderful Christmas Day it was for our family when the girls went out to the barn with eyes closed to be surprised with two baby miniature donkeys! Carolina is feisty, in charge, and has the most beautifully long eye lashes. Rainy is a snuggle bug, super sweet, and quite the sprinter when she runs! These girls go everywhere and do everything together as they are super bonded. We can’t wait to experience donkey pregnancy and see what for spitfire rebels of mothers these two will be one day.

There are no string of words to describe this gelding’s personality. Just paragraphs. Baby Kev was the most adorable baby animal we’ve laid eyes on. We met him when picking out the girls, but he was spoken for at the time. But, things change and Baby Kev became available and we were all surprised when he showed up on a trailer one day at our farm. Someone in the family purchased him as a surprise and he showed up to join Carolina and Rainy Bug! He’s been following them around ever since. Baby Kev is mischievous, super low to the ground, and resorts to violence when he doesn’t get his way. He’s been seen various times grabbing weapons such as bark pieces, long branches, and even toy soccer cones to chase his companion donkeys and goats around the pasture. He’s our little ray of sunshine and by far, the most intelligent barnyard member we have!

Ellie and Gracie joined our homestead in September 2025. Ellie is Rainy’s mom, and Gracie is Baby Kev’s mom! We had a wonderful opportunity to bring these little old bitties to our mini donkey herd and took it! The three OGs accepted them rather quickly and the five of them have been roaming the pastures looking for mischief every since. Ellie and Gracie participate in our activities and have done well so far with socializing, being rope led, and standing still to be brushed and cuddled. They are our herd’s most vocal donkeys, braying just about anytime they see us (and we secretly love that)!
