Lake Erie Candy Company

  • Front of Lake Erie Candy Co. store with a sign, colorful candy imagery, an American flag, and welcome and opening signs.

Lake Erie Candy Company was founded in March of 2019 by Missy Bertges and Greg Fornalczyk. Missy and Greg owned a retail store and were looking for a type of candy that resembled authentic beach glass.

However, the couple had no luck finding such a product and thus created their own. The response to their beach glass candy was so positive that they decided to sell their store to a local artist and focus exclusively on Lake Erie Candy Company.

Missy and Greg developed this business from one product to over 500 unique products in a few years’ time. The combination of handmade, gourmet, Erie-themed, and custom candies are now featured in hundreds of retail stores in over 45 states across the United States!

In May of 2021, Lake Erie Candy Company opened its first store in Erie, PA at the Village West Plaza.
