Welcome To Our Homestead!
Our Story…
The adventures began in the summer of 2021 in the town of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and haven’t stopped since. Move-in day presented a hurdle of saving a baby kitten that was stuck and dying inside of a hot barn wall. Christmas Eve of 2021 magically delivered two, four-month-old miniature donkey babies. A third later followed, bringing an unexpected level of sass to the farm!
The fainting goat herd began in April 2022 and has yet to stop growing, something most goat owners can relate to, and now also includes a few Nigerian Dwarf goats picked up along the way. Ducklings arrived in the Spring of 2023 who now produce some delicious duck eggs and the garden got started! Spring of 2024 welcomed a mini highland cow, LuEllen. She’s just the cutest thing. She’s quite the goofball and socialite with our other animals. She just doesn’t quite understand how much bigger she is than them! Expansion in 2025 occurred, welcoming two more mini donkeys, Ellie and Gracie who are originally Rainy and Baby Kev’s moms! They are our little old bitties, but are super sweet. January 2026, Chunk, the cutest little Dun highland steer just seemed like the perfect fit to LuEllen, so he joined the barnyard!
As experienced by many other homesteaders, we have had the highest of the high moments of joy and the lowest of the low heartbreak over the years but have learned that there is something indescribable about growing your own produce, having plenty of space to stretch out, and enjoying the constant learning opportunities to keep growing. We’ve never paid so much attention to poop in our lives prior to Little Hooves Homestead!

We host a variety of activities with our animal Cuddle Corners. Whether you’re interested in a public community-based session, a private party one (birthdays, girls night, etc.), a company/employer excursion, or a field trip for your organization, our barnyard crew is anxious to meet you!

Paint in the Pasture Events
Join our mini highland cow, our three mini donkeys, or our fainting goat crew for a painting in the pasture experience! Whether it be on canvas, ceramics, or another preferred vessel, create your artisan magic while in the pasture with our animals! We offer public events as well as private party bookings and are open to various painting inspirations!
